Meet Dr. Alyson

Dr. Alyson Mather first learned about chiropractic care at 16 years old when her mother sustained a work injury that debilitated her for many months. Her mother tried numerous traditional medical interventions and was eventually told that she would either require neck surgery or narcotic pain medications for life to manage the chronic pain. Her mother decided to attempt alternative medicine in a last attempt to alleviate her pain before undergoing surgery. After 2 weeks of chiropractic care, her mother was 80% improved and her pain fully resolved within a month of care.

Dr. Alyson recalls being amazed at her mother’s recovery and spent that summer interning at the chiropractor’s office to learn more about chiropractic. By the end of the summer, she knew that chiropractic was what she was meant to do with her life.

Born and raised in Massachusetts, Dr. Alyson completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst before pursuing her chiropractic education at the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic in Bridgeport, CT. She moved to San Diego in June of 2011 seeking warmer weather.

In her free time, Dr. Alyson enjoys theater, music, reading, being outdoors, and playing board games, and can frequently be found exploring new local coffee shops and restaurants with friends. She cares for a colony of community cats and enjoys participating in animal rescue.
